ACIM Background
A Course in Miracles was taken down in the 1960’s and 1970’s by the reluctant scribe Helen Schucman and her work colleague Bill Thetford. The book started when Helen heard an inner voice say, “This is a course in miracles, please take notes.” It took her and Bill (who typed the notes up) seven years to complete.
Judith Skutch and Ken Wapnick
When Judith Skutch and Ken Wapnick met up with Bill Thetford and Helen Schucman, ACIM had been completely written. Ken Wapnick helped to edit the manuscript and Judith Skutch helped to publish it through the Foundation for Inner Peace.
Teachers and Authors
A Course in Miracles exploded in popularity when Marianne Williamson wrote the international best-seller ‘A Return to Love’. Marianne Williamson’s passion caught the attention of top celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey.
Another author, Gary Renard and his bestseller ‘Disappearance of the Universe’ is bringing a new generation of spiritual seekers to the message. Gary Renard’s book is an account of his conversations with two ascended masters. ‘Disappearance of the Universe’, helps to bring a fresh perspective to the teachings.
There is no shortage of authors who have been inspired by this ACIM. Some of the most well known include Tom Carpenter, Jerry Jampolsky and Paul Ferrini.
